<filename.pst> is not a personal folder file

I archived all of my mail today to a file called Archive_11.28.2005.pst.
Everything seemed to work fine so I closed Outlook and burned the .pst file
to a dvd. I copied the file back to my hard drive, removed the read only
attribute and tried opening it in Outlook (same version of Outlook (2003) on
the same PC) and got the error "C:\<path to file>\Archive_11.28.2005.pst is
not a personal folder file". When I ran scanpst.exe it wouldn't recognize it
as a .pst file either.

Any ideas?

Also, did you create this file by exporting the data to it instead of
copying it?

I didn't use the import/export function, I archived it to a .pst
