i downloaded an episode of family guy... in avi format, now the problem is
that the download completed properly, but whenever i try to open the file it
wont run, saying that access is denied to the file. i tried to delete it, but
no luck, still access is denied, i tried to rename it , modify it, open it up
in other programs and still no luck. finally i even tried restarting the
computer, but the problem remains... its taking up 200 mb of hard disk space
and its useless, can anyone help me at least try to run it, or maybe even how
to remove it?

the media player error;

"Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you
might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy
settings might not be correct."

the file isnt in use, i have removed it from all shared folders as well....

Windows error;

ERROR Moving file or folder. cannot move family.guy.403.pdtv-lol: access is
denied

HELLLLP.

yes thanks rick,

i tried but it's not working, first of all.. i have only one accouynt on my
com,puter and that is the adm inistartor, secondly theres no security tab
when i right click the file.. it just says GENERAL and the other tab says
SUMMARY. even the advanced tab doesnt have any options similar to the ones
mentioned on your page.

how do u delete from the command prompt? or at least rename...

the command prompt in windows gives me the same "access denied" message

Hi Fraz,

In order to see the security tab, you must be logged on as administrator
*and* have simple file sharing disabled (Pro only) or be in Safe mode (Home
versions). Have you done this?
