File Types

When i try to view file typesunder > Tools > Folder Options in win xp pro
sp1, all i get is the screen loading.
Is this caused by damaged files or a bad windows installation?

Any help would be grateful.

The solution in this case is not straight-forward. First, try a System
Restore rollback to the date the function was working fine. If that does not
help, identify the registry access / problems using RegMon
