File System Errors

I'm using BootItNG ("BING") in Maintenance mode from floppy to try to
make a safety image of a new XP installation. The source partition is
40GB on a Seagate drive, but the data size being imaged is only 3GB. The
free space on the destination drive is 5GB. When I run BING, it reports
"An error has occurred reading from the hard drive. You can ignore all
errors and continue or cancel this process." Just for testing, I started
to resize so that BING, would includes its own file test. It failed with
an Error 55, whatever that is.

Then I ran chkdsk /f and SpinRite. The drive passed both tests with no
problems. Here is what I know: The problem is not with BING since
Seatools reports the same errors. Spinrite proves that the problem is
not an error on the physical media. Norton Disk Doctor did not find any
disk or file system errors.

The computer runs fine. It is puzzling that BING and Seatools find the
errors, but no other tool does. Therefore, I need a utility that can
find and solve the problem.

Hi,

TeraByte has excellent newsgroup support for Bootit NG. You may want to
post your question there.

I already did that. They don't know.

Wow, I don't know what to say other than if it doesn't interfere with
the functionality of Bing and Windows, then I wouldn't worry about it.
