File Size

I have a spreadsheet that is 11.9MB. I need to send it out and the client
can't receive it because it has to be 10MB or less. Is there any way to
decrease the file size without Zipping it, because they can't accept those
either...

Thank you!

Please ensure all sheets have deleted any empt rows/columns. If your scroll
bar does not end at the end of your data, go past the end of your data,
highlight to the right or bottom, Edit/Delete. Then, go to cell A1, and save.
This will shrink for empty. If the file is truly that size, don't think
anythign else will work.

Some of my sheets have very little data. My scroll bar does not end and I
followed your instructions and can't get it to work. I'm in Excel 2003, does
that make a difference?
Thank you for your help!

Do this on each sheet. You know what the last used cell is on that
sheet (the last cell that has anything in it). Now do Ctrl-End. This will
take you to the cell that Excel thinks is the last used cell. The size of
your file depends on, among other things, what Excel things is the used
range. If Excel's last cell is vastly different than your last cell (lots
of rows and columns difference), that could be the reason your file is so
large. To fix this, do this:
Let's say your (not Excel's) last cell is G100.
Select row 101. Not a cell in that row, click on the row number.
Do Shift-Ctrl-Down arrow. This selects all the rows below row 100.
Click on Edit - Delete,
Select Column H (click on the H of Column H).
Do Shift-Ctrl-Right arrow.
Click on Edit-Delete.
Do the above on every sheet.
Save the file.
Close the file.
Open the file.
See how big the file is. HTH Otto

That did help, but not enough.... Looks like there is just too much data.
Thank you so much for your help, I will keep this for future reference!
