File size increase when saving from PPT 2007 to PPT 97-2003

When I save PPT 2007 files down to PPT 97-2003, the file size increases about
7-8x the original size.

Is there any workaround or fix for this?
 
Just because you have an automatic compression in 2007 that you don't have
in 2003.
 
Thank you for the response. I don't know if that's the entire problem. For
example, I have a 3 slide presentation that I created as a template in 2007.
When I saved a version to 97-2003, it blew up to 8mb.

It only has 3 slides - no pictures, no charts, no graphics, no builds, no
animations, etc.
