File sharing with Windows 2000 and XP

At home I have Windows 2000 SP4 (my PC) and XP (wife's Notebook).
With D-Link DI-604 Router we can now access to the Internet.

Now I would like to connect two PC so that we can share files.
Is there any good Home page so I can follow step by step to connect two PC?

Have you joined both your computers to a domain ? If so
you can go to your hard drive, do a right click,
choose "Sharing" then add the users you want to be able to
access your Hard drive.
