file sharing problem

I have a problem here, I want my computers talk but it doesnt work

I have a WiFi laptop and wired tower, they both network to a router,
they can be used for internet and email with no problem. Now, I can put
\\192.168.4.0\filename to access the shared file, but when I put the
computer name instead of the ip address, then it says ' The folder you
have entered does not appear to be valid. Please choose another' .

I am wonder 1. the computer name is the full computer name, 2. they
have different workgroup...actually I dont understand the function for
workgroup.... thank you in advance thanksssss

Different workgroups will work, but will have to be setup properly.

Look at "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", "net config server", and "net config
workstation", from each computer, and diagnose the problem. Read this article,
and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!):
