I have 25 xp standalone machines, that when logged in have
internet access, by way of a switch router. They log on as
machine domains not on a domain or workgroup, these are
public access computers in a library. They are all
imaged/ghosted the same way. Each computer is named
Library01-25. The admin name and password is the same on
each computer. I have one piece of software that is used
to control a centrurion guard that reboots the machines
and turns the guard off and on. This works just fine with
an ip address to point the local machines back to the
identified machine acting as the server. Currently, a new
piece of software needs to point back and access a
database file to run the reservation and sign in software.
When the client trys to conect a access denied error is
given.
I need to share a file on the server for all machines
with the admin user profile to have access to it. When I
right click on the file folder I do not get a security tab
to give share rights to the file.
What is an approriate solution short of putting them all
in a workgroup???
thanks a bunch
