File sharing - cant see some files/folders

Here's my layout. I have an external HD with eight folders. The folders are
for the different sections in my office. I went to the following site and
followed the instructions:

http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp/filesharing.htm

I had a coworker log in and had him map the drive. He is able to get access
to his office folder but he cannot see the contents. Is there a reason why
this is happening? He has read, write & modify access under the Security tab.

There are two sets of access rights, one for the share and one
for the actual objects, files, folders, or printers. If one of
them blocks access, changing the other will not solve the
problem.
