Every time I save a file once on a CD-R , I get back to that same file to add
more information to it, then when I try to save it again on the file (Folder)
Windows spits out a note that I need permission from the administrator to
save the file. I don't have no adminstrator on this computer. I am the only
one who accesses it. So, why is it I am only allowed to save once on the file
and that's it? Thanks for any help you can give me.

You dont understand what is CD-R ?
You can only add data to a CD-R,you cannot delete/modify it. You can only
add the content until the disk is full.
You need a CD-RW + a packet writing software to do what you want...

CD-R = CD- Recordable
CD-RW = CD- ReWritable

I dont know why windows is giving that message but remember you are the
administrator.

Because it's a CD-*R* which means it is not rewriteable. If you really
want to overwrite the file, you need third-party burning software and
CD-R*W* disks.

Mary - From the beginning - The primary difference between a "R" and "RW"
really is that files on a"RW" CD can be deleted giving way to the term
re-writable.
Now files on a CD-R can be modified or rewritten but you cannot access the
file on the CD-R to make changes as evidently you are attempting to do.

How to do so? For example you copy file "AJR.doc" to a CD-R - to modify the
file do the modification to the file via its location on the computer -
after modifying simply burn to the CD-R and it will replace the previous
file - remember file names must be the same.

Also this means that if there is a possibility of modification, you must
keep the file on the HD - again you cannot modify the file directly on the
CD-R.

Is that correct, i mean in that way i can create a backup for my documents
with the same name and use a CD-R that is more reliable and better in
speed. Please tell someone that is that correct or not???

I know the procedure works for individual files - I would think that in a
backup function there would be same "name changes" which may cause problems
Also you would probably accumulate files/documents no longer wanted which
could not be deleted from a CD-R - why are you not considering a CD-RW - or
better still (my opinion) use USB which can provide greater capacity Keep
in mind that a CD-RW burned on one computer may not be readable on another.
