My computer was slowing down on startup, and I created a new user account.
When I deleted the other I selected "Keep Files" But as it was deleting, my
computer froze and all files were lost, and the account was still there. But,
what's done is done. Now I'm trying to figure out how to retrieve the files I
lost during the deletion. Can anyone help?

Are they in the recycle bin? If not, and you REALLY need them, you'll
have to purchase a file recovery program and hope it works. The demo
modes don't let you save the files that you do find.

You might or might not have to purchase a data recovery program. I gave you
several links to free programs to try.
