File Replication Warning

P

Paul Edwards

Hello All

I received the following warnings in the Event Viewer and I am having
trouble finding info on it.

Replication seems to be working fine.

I only have 2 DC. Altoona-server1 is the first domain. I do not get this
error on Altoona-Server1 only on the Edtech-Server1

Error 1:

Source NtFrs

ID 13562

Following is the summary of warnings and errors encountered by File
Replication Service while polling the Domain Controller
edtech-server1.appalachia.iu8 for FRS replica set configuration information.

Error searching DS with filter (objectCategory=*) under
cn=altoona-server1,ou=domain controllers,dc=appalachia,dc=iu8. Error
returned : Unavailable

Error 2:

Source NtFrs

ID 13525

The File Replication Service cannot find the DNS name for the computer
ALTOONA-SERVER1 because the "dNSHostName" attribute could not be read from
the distinguished name "cn=altoona-server1,ou=domain
controllers,dc=appalachia,dc=iu8".

The File Replication Service will try using the name "ALTOONA-SERVER1" until
the computer's DNS name appears.

Thanks

Paul

Usually means you may be using your ISP's DNS in your IP config. Need to
only use your internal DNS to insure that AD and members can find the AD
information in your DNS. You can use a forwarder for efficient Internet
resolution.
