While browsing through files (In any way and any place) I find files that,
instead of folders by them, have a piece of paper with the right top corner
folded down and a picture of some kind on it. Are these damaged, turned off
and how can I repair them?

That is most likely the icon for the program that is used to open that file.
In other words - if you double click on one, it will open in a certain
program (like Word, Notepad or Wordpad). Then, if you double click on
another - it will open in the same program.
