Hi,

I'm using 2 pc's with windows XP pro connected using a switch. I've got
the internet connection share to work fine - yet I can't use file or
printer sharing? And yes i've turned off the windows firewall, both pc's
are on the same workgroup and I think all the correct protocols are
installed. The only thing I can think of is that norton internet security
is causing a problem - are there any known issues with this? And if so is
there a way to bypass it without disabling it altogether? Or any other
suggestions?

Thanks a lot

Bertie

Oh and just remembered something - the error I get when trying to access a
share is that it could not be found. But when I try accessing a share from
the same computer it is on (using map network drive which should work fine
even not connected to a network) then I still get the same error. Don't
know if this is useful to anyone...

And the subject should say "not working"...don't know how I managed that...

Norton Internet Security could be the problem. Make sure that it's
configured to allow other computers on the local area network to
access the computer.

This was the solution for restoring my network after the SP2 update. I
changed the "trusted computers" in Norton to include the computers on the
home network and also configured settings in the Security Center section of
SP2 to allow for communication on the different items.
