Mike Needs Help!!!

I have successfully been running a wireless network using
Windows XP on my desktop connected to a Linksys router and
connecting wirelessly both Windows 2000 on my Dell laptop
and Windows XP on another desktop. Recently both the
printer and file sharing stopped working on the laptop
while the other wireless desktop with XP continues to work
fine. I can still see three computers in my workgroup and
the internet and e-mail connections work on all three. I
can print and file share from one XP computer to the other
XP computer. However, the laptop with Windows 2000 no
longer can acccess the other two computers for file
sharing or print sharing. I get the error "\\"computer's
name is not accessible. There are currently no logon
servers available to service the logon request." I have
tried disconnecting all firewalls as well as about one
million other things. Does anyone have a similar problem
or have any answers? I suspect a recent Windows update on
one of the machines has changed the ability for the
computers to network.

YEah i actually have identical setup with linksys and
printers and stuff...just makes sure all you workgroup
computers have the same names on all of your computers and
once u can get to your main computer from your windows
2000 computer go to the PRINTERS folder in your main
computer and set ur printer as default. That way, it will
all work man, and you will be able to enjoy your life
drinking beer and listening to rock and roll!! hehe
Good luck

I would suspect you joined a domain at work on your laptop. You can still
connect to your home machines but you will need to specify an alternate
username to connect with, such as yourdesktopmachinename\yourusername.
