File Path Problem

I have reciently started to use windows vista and am now very familiar with
all parts of it but there is one problem I wish to find out more about. In
windows XP the "My Documents folder was lacated in a very logical place, on
vista it is just called "Documents" and is arranged differently. My images
and music etc are seperate from Documents folder and are all subfolders in my
user profile.

My question is: Is this path for Documents folder correct or should it be
located in another place: "C:\Users\Users Name\Saved Games\Documents ?

I would not consider this a problem but to each his own. To me this file
arrangement is very logical. I have a user folder ,my user name, and all my
documents, downloads, music, etc. are located there.

==========================
C:\Users\Users Name\Documents

C:\Users\Users Name\Pictures

C:\Users\Users Name\Music

There is also a default folder at the following path:

C:\Users\Users Name\Saved Games

Maybe your Documents folder was dragged
into the Saved Games folder by accident.

There is no logical reason why it should be under "Saved Games".

It's possible to modify the registry entry for "Documents" anywhere you want
it.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders
"Personal" = %USERPROFILE%\Documents

Thank you, I dont know why my computer came with the documents folder in such
a strange place (i guess it is because they did not even beta test this kind
of stuff prior to relese. Like vistas inability to unzip more than 1 zip
folder at a time without crashing ;( )

The Documents folder is located at "%USERPROFILE%\Documents" path, which is:

C:\Users\{user}\Documents

If your computer *really* came with the Documents folder tucked inside the
Games folder and you didn't actually move it there by mistake and didn't
realize it (the most probable scenario), then your computer mftr.'s image
was faulty. This can happen (witness the intelppm.sys issue with XP SP2/3
as well as the very occasional bad image) although I've never seen this on
a computer from a major OEM (Dell, Sony, HP, Toshiba, Compaq, etc.).

I'm not particularly fond of Vista but you need to realize that this has
nothing to do with Vista or Microsoft. It's either you or the OEM.

Just sayin'.

The default location should be C:\Users\<username>\Documents

You can change the location by right-clicking the folder and selecting the
Location tab.

Any programs using the old "My Documents" location are redirected through a
hidden (system) symbolic link.
