The File Open common dialog used to default to List view for most programs.
Now all of a sudden, it's always in Thumbnail view. I know there must be
some registry value that I can add/update to change this, can anyone help?

Not sure where you are viewing these files but if you select "View" then "List", you'll see a thumbnail option in there aswell. Once they have changed to the new format, by closing the window, you save the format. If this doesn't work then goto Tools, Folder Options then View and make sure there is a tick in the box "Remember each folder's view settings"

I've tried that. It doesn't work. I'm about to call MS tech support
because this is driving me insane!
