Is there a way to delete file names in the "File Name" drop down box in the
"Save As" window?

I don't think there's anything you can do in Word itself. You can edit
the registry; go to the key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\
Open Find\Microsoft Office Word\Settings\Save As\File Name MRU

and change the entry named Value there. You may have to restart Word
to get the change to appear.

Thanks Carole but that didn't work. LOL

What I am looking for is when you click the down arrow of the drop box in
the "file name" line you get a list of previously used file names. It is
this list of names I wish to delete. Right clicking and hitting delete only
deletes the file name in the line of the "file name" and not what is listed
in the drop box. Can this list of file names be deleted and how would I do
this. Any help is greatly appreciated.
