File name listed with different colors

How come some files listed under Windows Explorer in a users My Documents
folder are listed in black and then some are listed in blue (I think that is
the customers default color)? The file names are for Word, Excel, and
others.

Hi Buffalobills,

Files that are listed in blue have been compressed using Windows XP file
compression. That user may have chosen the "Compress Old Files to save
space" option in Disk Cleanup.

If the user wants them to appear in black like the other files, then open
any folder or My Computer, go to Tools>Folder Options>View tab and scroll
down to locate "Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color". Click in
the checkbox beside "Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color" in
order to clear the checkmark that is there, then click on Apply then OK.

Regards,
