file folders become search windows

I'm not sure what happened but my "default" folder action has become search instead of open. When I double click on a folder, it brings up the search window. When I right click "Search..." is at the top and highlighted

Under file types, I have File Folder and Folder. when I go into advanced for File folder, "find" is set as default. I can't turn it off. Under "folder"/advanced, I have the option of explore or open and I can choose either to set as default. Common sense tells me to set "open" as default, but I think the "File Folder", but it still isn't working. I think the File Folder/Find is over-riding it

What do I do? I can right-click and choose "explore" to open folders, but what a pain
