My friend is a windows xp client, he had one data part
ion (d) in fat32, the operating system is on (c) also
fat32 he took an image of part ion C by norton ghost then
he converted part ion D (the data part ion) to NTFS and
increpted the part ion, then he had a system crash and
restored the image, now he cannot restore the encrypted
part ion, i tried to take ownership of the part ion (as
an administrator's account )and i was successful in that,
but i cant restore any of the files, then i tried to take
ownership of the files and i did but i couldn't decrypt
the files. (i couldn't fined the recovery agent i tried
to make a CR and i did and assigned it to the
administrators account but no luck)
is there is an way to recover the data.
or should i join the computer to a domine then use the
recovery a gent (but i would like to use this as a last
result)

If the files were encrypted, they are gone.

well, you can add bills gate to that folder and it ain't gonna help.
here's your options:
go with a company that sell product to decrypt efs.
http://www.lostpassword.com/efs.htm
or send it to me and i'll decrypt the monkey out of them for you ;-).
