I am trying to setup a download file (large) so someone over the internet
can get the application he wants. I have try the FTP server but it never
work accross the internet (forward port in the FWall). Is there anything
freeware that can help me put the file up for download using a web
browser? Thanks.

You could try UltraVNC <http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net/> It has a
file transfer module.

HTTP File Server sounds like what you want. Excellent program.
