I can't get the file download box to open automatically
any more when I try to download a game, utility, etc. from
the internet. I have to right click and go to 'Save target
as'and then it works. I've tried reinstalling IE but same
thing happens. I've tried repairing IE but same thing
happens. I've tried editing in file types but I need more
specific information on what to look for here as I'm lost
when it comes to this. Is there any way I can get this to
work like it use to?? Please help it is driving me crazy
trying to work out what to do!!!

To get the download dialog box, enable the "confirm open after download"
option for that filetype:

Click "Start" -> "Program Files" -> "Windows Explorer".

Then click "Tools" -> "Folder Options".

Change to the "File Type" tabs.

Scroll down to locate the file type. Highlight the filetype (example :"PPT
Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation") and click the "Advanced" button.

Then check the option "confirm open after download".

Also, set the "NoSelectDownloadDir" to "0"
