I work for a company that runs Word/Office 2000 SP3 as their current
standard. Recently we have gotten a complaint from someone who has a lot of
pull in the company about reports that he gets emailed to him. The reports
are .doc files, but when he opens them he is getting a "File Conversion"
Encoding selection/preview box. The Encoding that is selected is fine because
we have a macro that converts the document after opening anyway. My question
is how do I get that "File Conversion" box to quit appearing when he opens
the attachments. He gets them everyday and it is way to much to ask of him to
simply click OK on the box, I must spend hours researching the issue and
possibly creating a fix so that he does not have to take the split second to
click ok. Regardless upgrading to Windows 2000 SP2 or above is not an option
at this point.
