We are trying to standardize the way .jpg and .gif files
are opened on all users computers to cut down on
problems. On most users computers they open using IE but
we want them to open using Windows Imaging. Is there any
way to do this by use of a start up script or a GPO? I
don't want to go to each individuals computer and set it.

Any help is appreciated.

See tip 108 in the 'Tips & Tricks' at http://www.jsiinc.com

You can place these in a logon script, or use psexec, tip 4141, to run them
remotely.

Tip 4195 will run them on all workstations.
