New to vista.
Having trouble opening a .dat file in mail attachment.
Can't find an association that works.
Appears to be a corel program, which I don't own.
Had similiar issues with .tiff which was resolved.

Any suggestions ?
 
there is no info in the .dat other than forating options. ask person to
resend message in text not html or rich text.

..dat files are not associated with any particular program. They are data
files used by a particular app, the format is unique for that app. There is
no universal way to open one or see the contents. Try Notepad or WordPad to
see if they can read it. Otherwise contact the person who sent it to you
and ask them about it.
