Im new to networking so excuse me if the answer to my query is simple. Ive
just set up a wirless ad hoc network between a desktop and laptop. the destop
has the internet connection on via an ethernet cable to a ntl cable modem.
the wireless connection is eshalished ok with good signal. internet
conncetion sharing is enabled on the desktop and the laptop connects through
it fine. the problem ive got is i want to share folders and a printer on the
desktop with the laptop. Ive enable sharing on the c: drive of the desktop
and also of the printer. both desktop and laptop have the same workgroup name
mshome but i dont seem to able to see the folders and printer on the laptop.
when i go to network places, nothing is there, if i try to add a network
place, entire network, microsoft windows network, it shows a mshome icon with
3 computers but if click on this nothing happens i dont what to do from here.
any suggestions would be appreciated

If no help yet, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each
computer. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions
completely and precisely:

im sorry if my details are a bit vague, both machines are running xp home and
both have belkin wireless adapters. the adapters seem to be working fine
because i can connect to the internet via the laptop using ics, but both
computers cant seem to see each other even though file and printer sharing is
enabled. from other threads it looks like it might be a firewall problem i
think that both windows and norton firewalls are active on both machines so
ill start there.
