We are experiencing problems with our Access Database. We had a power
failure earlier this morning, and now we are unable to get into Access. I
shut all the programs down, and restarted the computer. I still get the
error message "Could not use 'G:\AccessData\aestique.mdb'; file already in
use." Is there anything else that I can try? Please let me know. Thanks!

Close Access.

Open the Windows Explorer (My Computer) to G:\AccessData.
Delete the file:
aestique.ldb

The ldb will be only 1 or 2kb in size. It contains locking information about
the database. Access removes this file when it shuts down. After a crash,
the ldb contains spurious information.

Look for the corresponding .ldb file, "'G:\AccessData\aestique.ldb", and
(first making *sure* no one's in the database) delete it. Then try
starting your database.

i have a similar, if weirder experience to share.....

i get a message with the same essential structure however there is no 'ldb'
file on the shared network drive where the a2k 'mdb' sits? puzzling, no?
