File access permission / security

I need help with the permission / security settings in
folder sharing option in Win Xp.
I just used a compaq restore Cd to restore / upgrade my
system from Win2k to Win Xp. To my surprise I cannot set
access permission / security to my shared folders again.
Please Help.
 
If you have Pro you can change out from Simple sharing
mode at bottom of View tab in Folder Options.
In either version, Pro or Home, you can use an F8 safe
mode boot.
