Figures in a document downloaded from the internet

In Word 2003, how I can see figures in a document I download from the
internet when I'm not connected to it?
 
As you've discovered, each picture is just a link to the file location
online. You need to unlink them so they will be embedded in the document.
While connected (so that you can see the pictures), select each one and
press Ctrl+Shift+F9.
