FIELDS' MANUAL TOGGLES

Whenever I open a document the fields like page numbers etc. are shown as
links in greyish areas and I have to toggle each so as to view the display.
How to display the same everytime I open the file instead of manually
toggling?

Open one document and press Alt+F9 to turn off the display of field codes.
Exit Word. The next time you open the application, you shouldn't be seeing
the field codes.
