Call your router's 1-800 tech support number, they'll walk
you through the setup and configuration. Give them this info:
Using a Router
PlayOnline (including all related software such as FINAL FANTASY XI)
may use any of the following ports. If you are using a router, please configure
it to allow packets to pass through these ports.
+ Port numbers that may be used by the PlayOnline server group:
-TCP 25, 80, 110, 443 or 50000 - 65535
-UDP 50000 - 65535
hi, i am getting the same damn error code as teh guy above and i've set my router settings to what was specified. it seems to not be a problem on my end but on the server end because i could turn the firewall completly off for my computer and i still time out during the update. going out of my mind here because help adn support is closed on weekends. i've got great internet. WoW is easier to update than this damn thing.
