feature button on application

I bought a new Window Vista-based PC and tried to open and re-write a file of
a Word / Excel application, but seemed those applications in Window Vista
style looked so weird to me. I couldn't do my work there because I couldn't
find any features used to be in Windows XP.
My question is....Does Window Vista have a Word/Excel application which
provide full features just like in Window XP ?

Windows XP didn't have Excel or Word either.

The *computer manufacturer* may have had it included, but you paid for it in
the purchase price.

Word/Excel are separate retail/OEM products that you must pay for (one way
or another) to obtain.

I think the OP is referring to the new Office 2007, and the new ribbon
bar... people have said it takes some getting used to....

I don't have it, so I can't help.

If you are referring to Word and Excel 2007, then the user interface has
been "improved." It will take some effort, but everything that was in prior
versions is also in 2007. If you have specific questions on either, there
are serveral newsgroups for each of those products. As others have said,
neither product is a part of Windows (any version).

First, this has nothing to do with any differences between Windows
Vista and Windows XP. You are apparently using Microsoft Office 2007
(which can run in either Windows Vista or Windows XP) and comparing it
to Office 2003 (or whatever version you used to run), and which can
also run under either Windows Vista or XP.

Note that *neither* Windows Vista nor Windows XP (nor any other
version of Windows) has ever come with any Word/Excel applications or
any other significant software. Microsoft Office is a separate
product, and not part of *any* version of Windows. You apparently
bought a computer in which the vendor bundled Office as part of the
package he sold you.

Second, Office 2007 does not have fewer features than older versions
of Office did. In fact, it essentially has all the same ones and
*more*. However, the interface has changed somewhat (it's designed to
be an improvement, but not everyone feels that way about it), and you
are not accustomed to it, and not finding things in their old familiar
places.

You would probably find it useful to buy a book on Office 2007. Read
it and give yourself some time to learn more about how to use it
effectively. I can't promise you that you'll like it better than its
predecessors, but I can promise you that you certainly won't like it
as much if you don't learn how to use it.
