Trying to fdisk a 2000 box and then install xp. when I
(try to)run the fdisk utility from a win98 boot disk it
says incorrect MD-DOS version. What is the quickest way
to get by this? Need a solution today so we can get this
computer to the person that gets it.

Greetings --

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered
the opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of
the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of
boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)

The reason your getting this error, is due to the fact
your hd is formatted in NTFS and w98 can't read it.
the others advice certainly applies...
