Using built-in MS Fax Service.

According the MSKB #227441: 'After you configure the Fax Service in Windows,
the Fax Notification icon is not displayed on the Windows taskbar until "fax
event" occurs.'

Does anyone know of a way to force it to display before then, at start-up?
I'd like to have the icon displayed at all times.

Well I am going to assume that what is said does what is said. No guarantee of that though. Go to Start | Settings | Control Panel | Fax | Status Monitor | Display icon on taskbar (check)

That works only after a 'fax event' occurs. In other words, even though you
have it configured to 'Display icon on taskbar', the icon isn't actually
displayed until after you send or receive a fax.

I'm hoping for a way to force the icon to display from the get-go.
