Favorites question

I just copied my favorites from my desktop to my laptop. When I click on
favorites on the laptop the drop list is off to the left side of the window
and has small test. What do I do to get the favorites to drop down in
larger text below the favorites button?

Try selecting the favourites menu (normally between "View" and "Tools")
instead of the favourites icon on the task bar. They behave differently.

Well so they do!
I'd always used the icon, so had never noticed.
