hi and thanks for your time.

i had to do a system restore after d/ling IE 7, this new browser i did not
like at all and was actually slow for me compared with IE 6.
anyhoo, i'm back to where i was and i can see all my favorites when i click
the favorites in the drop down box which i never like to use.
i like to just click on the yello star and have my favorites to the left of
my browser, i find that easier to navigate, but it's now empty !

so i can find all my favorites in the drop down box, but they are not in
favorites when i click on the yello star.

anyone know how i can get them back in the left pane ???

thanks

michael.

Right-click on Start Menu and choose Explore All Users. Here check other
User's Favorite Folder (especially the Default and All User). See if your
Favorites are there then make a copy / paste of them in your Favorite folder.

hi and thanks !
i tried this morning and yes when i explore all users i can see and copy
all my favorites but my IE will not let me paste them its just a blank left
pane and won't let me paste them in there.
i took a screen shot but cannot paste it for you to see.

do you think re-installing IE 6 might help ? or would i lose the favorites
all together then ?

thanks for your time

michael.

I think you are doing it in wrong way. Are you pasting the Favorites directly
into the IE. IE will never let you do that. Copy the Favorites from All Users
and then paste them into your setting's favorite folder while working in the
same window like C:\Documents and Settings\Rajiv Kohli\Favorites folder.

Hope you understand and this information will help you. Let us know!

I give you a Scenario.

ok! I have 2 users account. One is "Rajiv Kohli" and another is "Students".
Somehow, I add some of favorite links while working in Students account. Now,
I want them to add in my personal settings. What I do is, right-click on
"Start" - choose Explorer All Users - here I expand to "Students" -
right-clicking on Favorite Links then copy - expand back to "Rajiv Kohli's"
Favorites folder and click Paste.

If this is not working for you then you should try Import and Export feature
from File menu. First export user favorites and then import them back. See if
this one help.

Let us know!

One more thing you can try before you go to re-install IE i.e. Copy the
Favorites by Exploring the Start Menu and paste them into all user's Favorite
folder including Default Users, All Users, Administrator and others.

If that doesn't work then try reinstall, see if it helps.

Let us know!
