Favorites menu not expanding

K

Karen

I've just installed a new hard drive...and trying to get
XP to 'act' in the way I'm accustomed *grin*! Thanks in
advance for any help you can give me.

My favorites menu is my most annoying problem right now.
I want it to open up (show all) whenever I click on it.
Right now, it shows only the subcategories/links that
I've visited recently. Unvisited sites appear to have a
grey background. There is an arrow at the bottom of each
subcategory to "open it up". Very annoying...and each
extra click is painful for my wrists.

Any ideas?

turn off the "personalized favorites menu" in tools -
options - advanced tab.

move similar sites into folders using the "organize" tool.

use "links" tool bar across screen. 16+ links with short
names and under each can be lots of sites.

if you fill the entire screen with favorites sites how
can you find the desired site? too many sites exposed =
too confusing!
------------------------------------
"favicon"?????
When you clear the Temporary Internet Files
the favicon is cleared. If your TIF size is
small (1-5mb) then over time the favicon will
be kicked out in favor of new one.

Find these FREE programs:
FAVORG or FAVICONIZER
These will save the icons in a different
folder and fixes your favorites
with the favicon icons.

I have many subdirectories...and sub-subdirectories
*S*...everything is neat and tidy. What you describe
[too many sites exposed=too confusing] is my hubby's
computer. I had to use it for a week while my new hard
drive was shipped and nearly went crazy...lol!

Again, thank you.

The links toolbar? I really haven't used that very
much...but, you're right, it would be handy for
frequently visited sites. Or did you mean Google's new
task bar? I've just downloaded it. I love it! Very
handy...especially the pop up blocker.
