Most recent idiotic quote added to KICK (Klassic Idiotic Caption Kooks):

hackers."

"Only religious fanatics and totalitarian states equate morality with

Please do not use the 'r-word'. It could offend someone who has someone

Yes, but Aero on Vista has even lower cpu load because the whole desktop is
handled by the GPU.

I miss him so much. I hardly know what to do with myself, Just FYI :-)

Carl is being a dick-head so I thought I would help him out. Thanks for
asking.

I expect if you gave a XP Aero theme to most Vista users they wouldn't know
the difference between the two Oses.

Things like touting Aero as a virtue is the problem because it is a triumph
of style over substance.

What's the point of having faster hardware if is is going to be bogged down
by useless graphics.
The crowd being catered for is those who use their pcs for little more than
screen saver viewing.

Even with the eye candy turned off, Vista is slower and offers nothing
significant for the average user over XP.

You are quite wrong. At least for me, Vista is very much faster then XP was,
on the same machine. Then I've had a good video card, and tons of ram for
several years.

Stop making blanket statements that Vista is slower, cause it isn't.

What may interest you more than the Aero look is the
modern composition engine that aero relies on. It is
more efficient than what was available in XP.

Cheers,

R.

Why would you turn Aero off? Of course its going to be slower if you shift
the "desktop drawing" work to the CPU, instead of letting the GPU handle it.

It seems to me that it does. Vista offers you a thorough Digital Rights
Management that helps you to stay honest.

No, just to permit you to watch DVDs in the future. The movie
studios/music publishers are driving this. Microsoft had no choice but to
comply. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to watch DVDs/TV shows/other
protected content, period.
