I already restored my settings with a recent copy using the files and
settings transfer wizard utility in Win XP. I would like to restore only
selective files from an older backup that contained both settings and files
using the same utility. Is that possible and how?

Could I run the older settings and files file with the Tast wizard to get the
files, then, Run the Fast wizard again with the newer settings files to get
my more recent settings?

could you please tell me what the TAST wizard is and where i can find it?

FAST = Files and Settings Transfer Wizard.

It in on Start menu under Accessories - System Tools and also on the
Windows XP installation CD. When you insert the CD select the
"Perform additional tasks" from the autorun menu.

For detailed information see the article by MVP Gary Woodruff at

Good luck
