FAST--Network

On one XP Pro SP2 machine the FAST Network option is available, but on
another identical machine, it is grayed out. (KB301999 says that this can be
caused by different subnets for each machine, but that not the case here.)

Any thoughts?

are the NIC's identical ?
 
The NICS are not identical (except for speed). I haven't checked the
configurations, packets, etc. I wouldn't have thought those things would
make a difference.
