(leave out 2,2k & lower other circuitry for tacho wire & dashed switch
if you do not need that)
Thanks but what's incredibly funny about this is it now seems like it's the
iopener itself deciding to turn it on, or not, based on temperature.
Just happens I was working on the thing (doing more mods) when I posted
and, after I went back to it, I discovered that. Mainly by deciding to see
how long the new heatsink I put on would keep things at a reasonable temp
even without the fan running. Looked like it was doing a bang up job when,
well shazzam, now the fan is running.
Strange because the iopener doesn't come with a fan at all so why it would
have fan control 'built in' seems rather peculiar.
But speedfan doesn't report any fan control so I'm not sure yet and am
busy, for now, trying to figure out how to get keep the front bezel from
interfering with the touch panel operation. I'm tempted to build another
whole case for it.
me either before last year with my newer PSU; seen again with some
other PSU ..
if 5V rail is switched on before 12V rail with lasts its "slow rise"
voltage (to prevent peaks to electronics & motors of optical drives &
HDs - usually with better quality PSUs),; that few tenth of ms-s may
miss a kick-on peak voltage to some fans to start properly IMHO ...
Maybe. but it sounds like a lot of ifs.
