Failure to log on to domain

Gabriel

I have just installed XP Pro on a notebook and have
successfully joined the notebook to the domain. I can't
however, log on to the domain. I get this error
message "windows cannot connect to the domain, either
because the domain controller is down or otherwise
unavailable or because your computer account was not
found. Please try again later." The computer account is
there and I've a couple of things but still no luck. Can
anyone help?

That sounds like either you didn't select your domain from
the drop down box under your password box on the logon
screen or your network cable is unplugged.

if the domain server is w2k, check the dns; if it is NT, check the wins or
enable netbios over tcp/ip. post back with the result.
