Attempted Repair because of many corrupt files. System
started install, but after about 5 minutes error
BAD_POOL_CALLER, STOP 0x000000C2 (0x0000007, 0x000000CD4,
0x020C000E, 0x80E9BE70) "A problem has been detected and
Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your
computer." Now when I start up the computer I get the
following "Setup is being restarted." I then insert XP CD
as instructed and it starts over again and ends with the
above error message. I tried to start it in Safe Mode, but
none of the options available would work. Any suggestions,
before I head off to the repair shop would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks.

Put your win xp cd in cd drive and as soon as you turn on your computer hit
the f12 key and select ide drive diag. If the test fails call dell, if you
are under service contract then your hdd will be replaced. If the test
passes, then again press the f12 key as soon as you boot your computer and
then select ide cd rom drive and hit any key to boot from cd. (you need to
be very fast here) Then you should be able to reinstall the o/s.

Assuming that you don't mind losing your data. Restart your pc and start
tapping F12 key as soon as you start your pc, you should see boot device
menu. put your win xp cd and select ide cdrom drive.and press enter and
enter again in 2 seconds. Press the second R (not the recovery console) in
the setup process to repair the installation of win xp.
