Failed Windows Update

I own my own computer repair shop. I do a great deal of Windows updating on
XP home and pro machines. Almost without fail for the last several weeks the
updates fail. If I set the system to auto download and notify when ready, the
updates work. This happens with every computer....so it is not an isolated
incident and Microsoft is of no help. I'm thinking it is a problem with the
windows update itself, not the individual computer. Any ideas out there?

Hey Doug,


I can tell you from past experiences that if you change to auto update
because the normal way is not working, means that Microsoft is not seeing
your'e copy of windows as a valid copy of windows with its new validation
system.

If you have a valid copy i would check your volume license, if you have a
OEM...You out of luck
