f4 to make constant

I am trying to do a spreadsheet and keep one cell as a constant number for my
formula. Where do I put my cursor to hit f4?

Select that part of the address which you want to keep absolute and then
press F4

For example

to get $A1 select A and press F4
to get A$1 select 1 and press F4
tp get $A$4 select A4...
to get $A$1:$B$10 select A1:B10...

Experiment and you will get the hang of it.
Actually F4 cycles through all the combinations... so can keep pressing it
and stop when you get what you want

hi,

When you enter the formula into the formula bar you may have something that
looks like

=if(a1

just after you enter the cell or range address tap F4 then and it will turn
to absolute and you can carry on entering your formula

-if($A$1

If you've entered it then in the formula bar select the cell/range to make
absolute and then tap F4.

Click on the cell containing the formula, then, in the *formula bar*,
select the cell that you wish to make absolute, then hit <F4>.

Hi

Place the cursor in the formula cell at the cell reference which you
want to toggle.

Per
