F-prot hanging processes

Just got updated by F-prot on sunday, now all programs are much slower when
running.

I noticed after a reboot svchost.exe and Explorer are at 50% each for over
5 mins then 98% on systems Idle...but when i try to run anything it takes for
ever or doesnt start at all...anyone here about this with f-prot 3.16, anyone
know of a fix? i do not like running without Virus Software.


I had to uninstall to get systems to work right

Use Grisoft AVG http://www.grisoft.com (freeware version available) and
forget about f-prot.

Thanks for the Idea...used it before but didnt catch all...and doesnt have a
free copy for Servers

I'm running 3.16b and have had no problems.

I was thinking that if its only 1 computer on my network i would think its a
Computer related, but since its on 6 others doing the same thing and right
after i do the lasted updates..Go figure

No, but I noticed that the latest ver. is 3.16f

I have sent a Email to F-prot asking them about any issue pertaining to the
lastest update. Youre correct on the ver

Here is what i found in regards to the issue, this started the same time that
this update came out to fix a issue with Windows

FRISK Software has released version 3.16f of F-Prot Antivirus for Windows.

This newest version of F-Prot Antivirus for Windows includes a bugfix for an
endless loop encountered in a corrupted Windows Metafile (WMF) sample.
Updating F-Prot Antivirus

We recommend that users of F-Prot Antivirus for Windows update their
programs to versions 3.16f as soon as possible.
