Extremely Weird CDROM issue

Hello community!

Here is my problem, I recently installed Windows Vista on my computer. But
I am having problems with my CDROM drive. At first it was fine, but after I
installed my realtek HD audio drivers, my CDROM went missing. I can still
get it any time by going into device manager and hitting the detect hardware
changes. It will install automatically. Now the funny things is though,
that if I pop the windows vista CD into the drive from boot, but just ignore
the "hit any key to go into vista install mode" it will boot up normally into
windows and guess what... my cdrom drive will be installed!! Weird... And if
i reboot without the windows vista cd, my drive goes missing again. What can
be the issue here?

I have no upper and lower filters...

Like I said, its an extremely weird problem. I will restate, whenever my
computer starts up with my Windows Vista CD in the drive from boot, my cd
drive is recognized and it shows up in my computer and in device manager.

However if I startup with the drive empty, my cd drive doesnt appear in my
computer nor in device manager. However, IF I go to detect hardware changes
while in device manager, it gets recognized. On next boot up however, same
thing happens, if no cd it will be forgotten, if vista cd is in there it will
appear. How do I fix this?

I had a client's machine that was like that. The motherboard was bad. If
this is a new computer under warranty, contact the mftr.'s tech support for
repair/replacement.
