Extracting the audio from clips.

I'm trying to get Windows Movie Maker 2 to be used a bit
like Apples version :)

I'm trying to extract the audio from a clip, so that the
movie fades out earlier, but the audio of the clip is
still going in the background while the credits roll. But
I can't seem to find the way to extract the audio from
the clip, have the clip have no audio, and let the
background music roll.

I seem to be able to cut ans paste the audio into the
music/audio area, but it just seems to end up cancelling
each other out in the end so no audio comes out.

Any help?

Seems like a case of doing it in two passes. Save it first to a new movie
file with the overlapping audio from the video clips. Then import the new
file and add the music.
